I’m a night owl by nature. I don’t think this is abnormal, but it’s not something I’ve ever been able to change. When I get up in the morning, my mind is still foggy and my body feels like it’s had one too many cans of beer. There are two things that help me get out of bed: coffee and a morning routine.
That’s right—a little regimented time in the morning helps you wake up easier and feel more awake throughout your day instead of feeling like your head is going to explode!
So, what should your morning routine look like?
Wake up early.
You can’t get ahead if you don’t start early.
Waking up early is one of the most important things that anyone can do to be successful in their career, personal life and relationships. If you want to succeed, then waking up early is a must! In this article we will discuss how exactly we should wake up and what our morning routine should look like so that you have an effective morning routine that will help bring out your best self every single day!
Make your bed.
This is a ritual that you can’t afford to skip, and it’ll help you feel better about the rest of your day. It will also help with confidence and self-esteem, since it’s one of those things that makes people proud of themselves when they see their room looking neat and tidy—and this feeling can carry over into other areas of life as well (like work).
If making your bed doesn’t appeal to you yet because it seems like too much effort, consider how long it takes for someone else around you who does make their own beds every morning! You’ll probably be shocked at how easy this is when compared with the amount of time spent on other tasks throughout the day.
Do some reading.
Reading is a great way to relax and feel more connected to the world.
Reading can help you learn new things, which will help you succeed in your career and personal life. Reading also helps you feel less stressed out about things that may be going on around you that don’t concern your immediate happiness (e.g., traffic). If nothing else, reading gives us something else to do when we’re bored!
Reading is a form of meditation: it takes time away from our busy lives so we can think about what’s important for us rather than focusing on external distractions like social media feeds or our phones ringing constantly throughout the day. The benefits of reading include increased concentration on tasks at hand when used as part-time study material or during breaks at work; general well-being brought about by increased serotonin levels after only 20 minutes of reading; decreased stress levels among those who read regularly (“cognitive reserve”); improved memory retention while learning new concepts through reflection upon past experiences—and lastly an increased sense of belongingness within society because everyone shares similar interests through shared culture.
Meditate.
Meditation is a great way to start your day, and it can help you reduce stress. It also allows you to be more focused and productive during the day. There are many different types of meditation, so find one that works for you!
Meditating in the morning can have several benefits that can improve your day. Here are a few:
- Reduces stress and anxiety: Meditation helps to calm the mind and reduce stress levels. Starting your day with a few minutes of meditation can help you feel more relaxed and centred, which can set the tone for a calmer and more productive day.
- Increases focus and concentration: Meditation improves focus and concentration, which can help you stay on task and be more productive throughout the day.
- Boosts mood: Research has shown that regular meditation can increase levels of serotonin and dopamine, which are neurotransmitters associated with happiness and well-being. By starting your day with meditation, you can boost your mood and feel more positive.
- Improves sleep: Meditation has been shown to improve sleep quality and reduce insomnia. Starting your day with meditation can help you feel more rested and alert throughout the day.
- Enhances self-awareness: Meditation can help you become more aware of your thoughts and emotions, which can lead to greater self-awareness and self-regulation. This can help you respond more effectively to stressors and challenges throughout the day.
Overall, meditating in the morning can help you feel more centred, focused, and positive, which can set the tone for a more productive and fulfilling day.
Stretch.
Stretching is a great way to warm up your body for the day. It helps you avoid injuries, relaxes you and makes you feel more refreshed, so it’s a great way to get a better night’s sleep.
Here are some stretches that will help wake up your body:
-Raise your arms above your head, then bend forward and reach for the floor. -Hold onto a chair or rail to keep balance as you stretch out each leg in turn. -Lie on the floor with both legs extended, then place one foot on top of your other knee.

Exercise.
Exercise is one of the most important things you can do for your health, but it’s also one of the hardest. If you want to make exercise a habit—and not just something you do on special occasions—you need to make it part of your morning routine.
Here are some tips for how:
- Choose an activity that fits into your schedule and lifestyle (e.g., if you have kids, maybe yoga or running would be better than lifting weights). You should also consider what kind of exercise works best for your body type and physical characteristics (e.g., if someone has more muscle mass than another person).
- Keep track of how often/how long/how much weight loss each day/week by writing down everything in a journal or spreadsheet; this will help motivate yourself throughout the process!
Build a morning routine that will set you up for success every day, and turn it into a habit!
A morning routine is a wonderful thing. It can help you be more productive, healthier and more mindful of the day ahead. It can also make you more successful in your career as well as better decision makers.
The first step towards building this morning routine is to ask yourself: “What do I want out of my mornings?” This will give you an idea of what kind of success or mindset you need to have in order to make the most out of your mornings (and throughout the rest of your days). Once this question has been answered then create a plan that works best for YOU!
Final thoughts.
Let’s face it. Getting up early is hard. And getting up early every day can be even harder. But the rewards are worth it! You’ll feel more energized and ready for the day ahead of you, plus you’ll have a better chance of achieving your goals because you’re not distracted by other people or circumstances that may prevent you from being productive in the mornings.
So if we were going to give one piece of advice to those who want to get more done in the morning while they sleep longer at night, we would say: build a morning routine that will set you up for success every day, and turn it into a habit!
